Why we do what we do
- But silence is not safety.
- Endurance is not healing.
- And home should never be a place of fear.
We believe every woman deserves to feel safe. This is why The Gamp Haven Foundation provides shelter, support, and strength to survivors of domestic violence in Nigeria. We are committed to helping survivors find safety, rebuild their lives, and regain their independence. From crisis intervention to long-term reintegration, we walk with every woman on her journey to healing.
Our work is guided by a survivor-centered framework built around four interconnected pillars. These pillars reflect the journey from crisis to recovery and, ultimately, to lasting change. We call it the 4Rs of Survivor Empowerment:
Rescue
We provide immediate safety and intervention for women and children escaping violence.
Restore
We offer trauma-informed counseling, therapy, and emotional healing to help survivors begin their journey toward wholeness.
Rebuild
We empower survivors with the economic opportunities to live independently and thrive beyond trauma.
Reform
We train advocates to understand women’s rights, challenge harmful norms, and champion policy and legal reforms that protect survivors and hold abusers accountable.
Our Programs
Our work centers on two core programs:
The Gamp Haven Shelter
A trauma-informed, safe space offering emergency housing, psychosocial support, legal assistance, and empowerment services for women and children fleeing violence.

The Gamp Haven Fellowship
An advocacy and education initiative that trains survivors, community leaders, and allies to challenge harmful norms, speak truth, and shift the culture around domestic abuse in Nigeria.
